SUBMISSIONS
The editors of the
Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law & Justice invite submissions of research, analysis,
narrative, theory, and commentary that address the lives and struggles
of underrepresented women. We believe that excellence in feminist
legal scholarship requires critical examination of the intersection
of gender with one or more other axes of subordination, including,
but not limited to, race, class, sexual orientation, and disability.
We publish work
by professors, practitioners, and students. In addition to consideration
for publication, submissions by public interest practitioners and students
may be considered for our annual Writing
Award.
Manuscripts will be accepted with the understanding that their content
is unpublished previously. If any part of a paper has already been published,
or is to be published elsewhere, the author must include this information
at the time of submission.
We strongly prefer the electronic submission of manuscripts via the online submissions service ExpressO or directly via email. Alternatively, one hard copy may be mailed to the journal
for consideration. Please include the full name of the author(s), together
with academic and professional affiliations. Citations should conform
to THE BLUEBOOK: A UNIFORM SYSTEM OF CITATION (Columbia Law Review Ass'n
et al. eds., 18th ed. 2005). Submitted manuscripts will not be returned
unless the author so requests, and includes a stamped self-addressed
envelope.
BGLJ publishes one
volume in the spring of each year. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling
basis, but must be received no later than December 1, 2008 for consideration
for publication in Volume 24, Spring 2009.
