The Boalt Journal of Criminal Law is the primary criminal law review in the western United States. With over 10,000 readers a year, the Journal is a flagship publication for the academic and practicing communities. The Journal is edited by the students at the University of California Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) and operates under the supervision of Boalt Hall faculty. BJCL publishes two issues a year: one in February and one in August. Because of the the quality and volume of our submissions, the Journal typically fills its publication slots at least six months prior to publication. Authors who seek to publish work in the Journal should visit our submissions page.
