Boalt Hall Committee for Human Rights ("BHCHR") was founded in 2004 by a small group of Berkeley Law students in order to foster and create a community of students interested in human rights at Boalt Hall (now Berkeley Law).   Our student-led organization has grown significantly since it was first created, creating new projects and partnerships, including with the UC Berkeley Human Rights Center.  We remain committed to making the human rights community at Berkeley stronger every year, through the following principles:

1) Foster & Create a community of students interested in human rights issues, domestic and international.

2) Connect students interested in pursuing careers in human rights with other law students, practitioners and professors.

3) Engage in human rights projects.

4) Raise awareness and educate our community on human rights issues.
