Arroz Frito With Salsa: Asian Latinos and the Future of the United States

by Carlos Hiraldo

Carlos Hiraldo writes about the small population in the United States of Asian Latinos. In the United States, the media has often portrayed Asians and Latinos as completely separate ethnicities, of having no possible “cross relationship” with each other. However, a minute portion of the Latino population in the United States is of Asian descent and consequently, they associate themselves as being Asian. Hiraldo focuses on broadening the racial and ethnic classes to account for all “cross-racial, cross-cultural interactions” between whites and minorities in the United States.
